On March 2nd, 2021 crews were dispatched to a reported fire at 814 Park St at approximately 12:14 PM. Several off-duty firefighters from the Indianapolis area were working in the area and noticed the fire prior to apparatus arrival. These individuals quickly searched the exterior of the home, locating a resident who required medical care and assisting him out of the smoke and to the Boone County EMS personnel upon their arrival. The first arriving fire apparatus reported heavy fire showing from the front window of the residence. Crews made a transitional attack on the fire and searched the interior of the home, finding no additional victims. The fire was marked under control at 12:37.
The patient was transported to Eskenazi Hospital for treatment. No information on the patient or their condition is available at this time, other than the injuries are not believed to be life threatening. The cause of the fire is under investigation at this time.
