The Lebanon Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred in the 800 Block of Cohen Street in Lebanon on January 27, 2020 around 7:00 p.m.
At approximately 7:04 p.m., Officers were dispatched to the 800 Block of Cohen Street in Lebanon for a male subject that was suffering from a gunshot wound. Prior to the arrival of Officers, the subject was transported from the scene and taken to Witham Health Services Emergency Room. The victim has been identified as Michael L. Maxwell, 29 of Lebanon. Mr. Maxwell was transferred to a hospital in Indianapolis, where he is being treated for a gunshot wound to the chest.
Detectives and Crime Scene Investigators are continuing to process the scene where this shooting took place and are interviewing witnesses. It is believed that this began as a verbal altercation between Mr. Maxwell and another male. Detectives are continuing to work on identifying the male suspect and attempting to locate him.
