Lonnie H. Rusteberg, 72, passed away on Friday morning, September 25, 2020 at Signature Healthcare at Parkwood in Lebanon, Indiana. He was born in East St. Louis, Illinois, on November 11, 1947, a son of the late Louis Emil Rusteberg and Hilda A. (Hackmann) Rusteberg–Walker.
Lonnie attended school in Centreville, Illinois. In 1967 he was married to Merley “Marlene” (Reagan) Rusteberg at the Walnut Street Baptist Church in Lebanon. She was the love of his life and they even shared the same birthday. Marlene passed away on July 29, 2018.
Lonnie was employed with Bob Fekkes Landscaping in Indianapolis and later worked with his brother, Louis, in the landscaping business.
He enjoyed the great outdoors, loved watching westerns, and cherished all the special times with his family.

In addition to his parents and wife, Lonnie was preceded in death by a brother, Stanley Hackmann and two sisters, Charlotte Viola Hackmann and Shirley Rusteberg-Lair.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 29, 2020 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Myers Mortuary, 1502 North Lebanon Street in Lebanon, Indiana. No funeral services will be held.
Myers Mortuary and Boone County Crematory have been entrusted with his care.
Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
