Lorraine Joan Habel, 92, of Lebanon, passed away Wednesday, September 1, 2021, at Witham Memorial Hospital in Lebanon.

Lorraine was born April 5, 1929, in Michigan City, a daughter of the late Anthony and Clara (Putz) Knoll. She married Dale Franklin Habel in Michigan City in 1951. He preceded her in death March 3, 2016.

Lorraine was a graduate of Marquette High School. She moved to Lebanon with her husband when he transferred with Indiana Bell Telephone Company. Lorraine enjoyed gardening, cooking, and especially her family. She also loved the casino action. Lorraine was a devout member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church and was always very strong in her faith.

Survivors include her daughter, Susan “Susie” Habel of Lebanon, many nieces and nephews, and special friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Lorraine was preceded in death by her sons, Kevin Habel and Pat Habel.

Family and friends will gather Saturday, Sep. 4, for visitation from 11 a.m. until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 1 p.m. in the St. Joseph Catholic Church, 319 E. South Street, Lebanon, IN. Lorraine will be laid to rest at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Lebanon. Memorial contributions in her memory may be made to the St. Joseph Catholic Church or the Humane Society of Boone County.
