Mrs. Mary Jean “Jeanie” Griffith, 79, passed away Tuesday, November 29, 2022, at her home in Thorntown, Indiana. She was born on February 11, 1943, in Lebanon, Indiana, a daughter of the late Russell Eugene and Mary Alice (Artman) Jamison.
On October 13, 1962, she was united in marriage to Eldred Lane Griffith in Lebanon. He passed away on June 21, 2009.
Raised in Lebanon, Jeanie attended Lebanon High School. She had worked for Kauffman Engineering for 25+ years and retired to care for her husband.
Jeanie enjoyed travelling and taking trips with Boone County Senior Services. She was an avid Elvis Presley fan and liked to read and work jigsaw puzzles. Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy were among her favorite television programs. Above all, she loved her family and was proud of her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include: Three Children: Sherri J. Kincaid, Michelle (Daniel) Schwestak, Randy L. (Courtney) Griffith: Six Grandchildren: Samantha (Frank) Fisher, Josey Schwestak, Paige Schwestak, Maci Schwestak, Krisha Griffith, Gage Griffith, One Great Granddaughter: Raci Fisher
In addition to her parents and husband, Jeanie was preceded in death by a son, Lannie Ray Griffith; and a sister, Janie Doolan.
No Services are planned at this time. Myers Mortuary and Boone County Crematory have been entrusted with her cremation arrangements.
