Maxine Arden Whisler, 67, of Avon, passed away on Sunday, March 6, 2022 at Hendricks Regional Health in Danville, Indiana. She was born on July 5, 1954; a daughter of the late Loren A. and Lillian M. (Hand) Whisler.
She was a graduate of Northwest High School and later received her master’s degree. She was an educator, librarian and later was a social service educator in the welfare department.
Maxine had a passion for lifelong learning and educating others. She loved to read, watch British shows and had a deep affection for dogs, especially Collies and White German Shepherds. She loved her job teaching children and helping people by working in social services. She also took great pride in caring for her mother until her passing in 2013. The family would like to thank Saya for her loving care to Maxine during her last few years of life.
She leaves behind her nephew, Loren Whisler; niece, Lori Bennett and great niece, Lilly Bennett.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Loren E. Whisler.
No services are planned, and burial of ashes will be held at a later date at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lebanon. Myers Mortuary and Boone County Crematory have been entrusted with her cremation arrangements.
