There are 16 Boone County children waiting for mentors, but few mentors trained and available at the Boone County Mentoring Partnership (BCMP). As many as five new applications a week are submitted from schools or individuals who know a child in need of a mentor, estimated BCMP Executive Director Matt Wilson.
