Sierra Messenger will replace Dan Fleming as the at-large representative on the Lebanon City Council. Messenger won a Republican caucus held Thursday evening after three ballots of precinct committee chairs. The vote by the caucus seats Messenger for the remainder of Fleming’s term which ends Dec. 31. However, Fleming also had to exit the upcoming election because he and his family moved out of Lebanon. So, Boone County Republican Central Committee Chair Debbie Ottinger told the caucus that she would also appoint Messenger to the ballot. More details in the Lebanon Reporter.
