Mr. Michael Anthony Darnell, 66, passed away on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at Witham Memorial Hospital in Lebanon, Indiana. He was born July 8, 1954 in Lebanon; a son of the late Terry Douglas Darnell and Jane Lee (McDonald) Howard.
On May 22, 1997, he was married to Debra Darlene (Vaughn) Darnell in Lebanon; she survives.
Mike was a 1972 graduate of Thorntown High School and had attended Purdue University. He was a 10-year member of Boone County 4-H and a member of the ROTC at Purdue. Mike worked as an auto mechanic for Webb Wheel and also owned his own shop in Tulsa, Oklahoma for a period of time.
He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. There was a special place in his heart for all children.
Survivors include his wife, Darlene Darnell; two children, Megan Ann Darnell and companion, James Almy and Nicholas Ray Darnell; stepchildren, Louis Lincoln Shepherd, Jr. and Jennifer Lynn Berry and companion, Brannon Strahm; three grandchildren, Damian Rage Berry, Dylan Elijah Berry, and Loki Devlin Strahm; sisters, Linda A. Darnell, Yvonne (Donna Welton) Howard, and Joanna (Perry Jr.) Shoemaker; and nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Mike was preceded in death by a stepson, Elijah Luke Shepherd.
There will be no public services. Myers Mortuary and Boone County Crematory have been entrusted with his cremation arrangements.
