Aaron Ballard  started making memorial headstones in 2009 without experience or previous knowledge of the business. Ten years later, Ballard’s business is growing. He’s diversified A&K Custom Monument Service into other markets using his engraving equipment. Besides grave markers, Ballard engraves rocks and stones for homeowners, commemorative markers for pets, and makes commercial and industrial signs, like the new Boone County Highway limestone sign. A&K will have an anniversary open house 10 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Sept. 5-7, and people can get questions answered during that time, or at any time, by visiting or calling 765-484-8148.
