State troopers will be going after violators of Indiana’s move-over or slow-down law in 2024. In a nutshell, the law says you are required to move over a lane if you are approaching an emergency vehicle with their lights flashing on the side of the road. If you can’t move over then you would be required to slow down to at least 10 miles an hour below the speed limit. State police Sgt. John Perrine says is unfortunate that it takes a law to get drivers to move over to give first responders space while assisting with roadside hazards.
