(Cleveland, OH) — The Cavaliers are going to look like a completely different team after Thursday’s trade deadline. Cleveland made three separate trades that resulted in Rodney Hood, Jordan Clarkson, Larry Nance Junior and George Hill joining the team and Isaiah Thomas, Jae Crowder, Channing Frye, Iman Shumpert, Derrick Rose, Dwyane Wade and multiple picks heading out. Wade went back to the Heat. Thomas and Frye are on the Lakers.

(Charlotte, NC) — Hornets guard Kemba Walker is an NBA All-Star after all. Walker was chosen by the league as the injury replacement for Knicks forward Kristaps Porzingis [[ CHRIS-taps por-ZING-is ]], who is out for the season with a torn ACL. Walker will join Team LeBron and make his second All-Star appearance. He’s averaging 22.6 points and 5.8 assists for Charlotte this season.

(San Francisco, CA) — Jimmy Garoppolo’s new contract now gives him the highest annual salary in NFL history. The quarterback re-signed with the San Francisco 49ers on a five-year, 137-and-a-half-million-dollar contract. Garoppolo was traded to the 49ers from the New England Patriots this past October for a second-round pick. He started five games for his new team and won every contest.

(Minneapolis, MN) — The Vikings are ready to name a new offensive coordinator. According to multiple reports, Minnesota has hired Eagles’ quarterbacks coach John DeFilippo to be its new OC. He replaces Pat Shurmur, who left following the Vikings postseason run to become the head coach of the New York Giants. DeFilippo was the QB’s coach in Philly for the past two seasons.

(Chapel Hill, NC) — Number-22 North Carolina took care of number-eight Duke 82-78 at the Dean Dome as the biggest rivalry in college basketball was renewed. The Tar Heels grabbed 20 offensive rebounds to help overcome a 39-percent shooting night from the field. UNC is 18-and-7 and 7-and-5 in the ACC. The Blue Devils blew a four-point halftime lead with only 29 points in the second half. Duke fell to 19-and-5 and 7-and-4 in conference.
