(Pullman, WA) — Washington State is mourning the death of quarterback Tyler Hilinski. Pullman Police found him dead Tuesday afternoon of an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head at his apartment. A rifle was recovered next to the 21-year-old, along with a suicide note. Hilinski started the Holiday Bowl for the Cougars less than three weeks ago.

(Boston, MA) — NBA Hall of Famer and Celtics legend Jo Jo White is dead. He passed away Tuesday at the age of 71 after battling cancer. White was a two-time NBA champion, Finals MVP, seven-time All-Star and Olympic gold medalist. He played 12 seasons in the NBA, mostly with Boston. The 6-foot-3 guard averaged 17.2 points, 4.9 assists and four rebounds per game.

(Boston, MA) — Another monster performance from Anthony Davis carried the Pelicans to a 116-113 overtime win against the Celtics in Boston. Davis exploded for 45 points and 16 rebounds as New Orleans picked up its third straight win. This was following a 48-point performance against the Knicks on Martin Luther King Day. Davis is averaging just under 40 points over his last four games.

(Manhattan, KS) — Oklahoma star freshman Trae Young finally had an off-night in an 87-69 loss at Kansas State. Young turned the ball over an NCAA season-high 12 times and hit only 2-of-10 threes. He still finished with 20 points on 8-of-21 shooting to go along with six assists. The sixth-ranked Sooners fell to 14-and-3 overall and 4-and-2 in the Big 12.

>>Jaguars’ Fournette Okay After Car Crash

(Jacksonville, FL) — Jacksonville Jaguars running back Leonard Fournette is okay following a car crash. The Jags say Fournette’s vehicle was rear-ended yesterday morning, but he was able to drive home without a problem. Florida Highway Patrol says Fournette wasn’t to blame for the collision on I-295 near Heckscher. Jacksonville plays the Patriots on Sunday in the AFC Championship Game.
