(Los Angeles, CA) — Blake Griffin’s time with the Clippers has come to a shocking end. ESPN reports LA has agreed to trade Griffin to the Pistons in a six-player swap that includes Tobias Harris and Avery Bradley from Detroit. Draft picks are also involved. Griffin signed a five-year deal worth more than 170-million-dollars this offseason. He was drafted by LA with the first pick in 2009.

(St. Paul, MN) — Super Bowl week is underway. It kicked off with Super Bowl Opening Night on Monday at Xcel Energy Center in Saint Paul. The Patriots and Eagles took part in the circus formerly known as Media Day. New England headliners Bill Belichick and Tom Brady will meet with the media again today at the Mall of America. The Eagles will follow the Patriots’ group.

(Cleveland, OH) — Chief Wahoo is going into retirement. The Indians say their controversial smiling Indian logo will be removed from team uniforms in 2019. It’s drawn criticism and lawsuits from Native American groups who consider it racist. Chief Wahoo in one form or another has been worn on Indians uniforms since 1947. MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred has been a vocal critic of the logo.

>>Canelo And GGG To Have Rematch

(Undated) — Another major boxing event is on the horizon. Unified middleweight world champion Gennady Golovkin and former champion Canelo Alvarez will have a rematch on May 5th. A site has yet to be announced. The first fight was a draw, but “GGG” was widely considered to get the best of Alvarez. The initial match was on September 16th, 2017 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

(Undated) — The NHL All-Star break is over. The league returns to action tonight with 12 games on the slate as the 2017-18 regular season begins the second half. The Tampa Bay Lightning lead the NHL with 71 points, while the expansion Vegas Golden Knights sit atop the Western Conference with 68 points. Tampa is at Winnipeg tonight, while Vegas visits Calgary.
