Scott Piercy, Ian Poulter, Russell Henley and Dustin Johnson all shot a one-under 69 Thursday at Shinnecock Hills. Jason Dufner is fifth at even-par. Phil Mickelson opened with a seven-over 77, while Tigers Woods shot eight-over 78.

(Philadelphia, PA) — The Philadelphia Eagles are showing off their Super Bowl rings. The team held a ring ceremony last night. They are comprised of pure 10-karat white gold, each with nearly 220 diamonds and 17 green sapphires. The Eagles defeated the New England Patriots 41-33 in February for their first Super Bowl championship.

(San Diego, CA) — Kellen Winslow the Second is behind bars again for the second time in a week. The former NFL tight end was originally handcuffed a week ago in Encinitas, California on suspicion of burglary. He was rearrested Thursday on suspicion of additional crimes, including rape, kidnapping, indecent exposure and forcible sodomy.

(New York, NY) — UFC’s Conor McGregor is negotiating a plea deal in Brooklyn after an outburst in April resulted in a dozen charges. He’s facing felony criminal mischief and misdemeanor assault after throwing a dolly through a bus window. McGregor hasn’t fought in the UFC since 2016. He lost a boxing match to Floyd Mayweather last year.

(Minneapolis, MN) — The Twins are sending struggling slugger Miguel Sano [[ sah-NO ]] to the minors. He’s been optioned to Single-A Fort Myers. Sano hit a career-high 28 home runs last season and made the All-Star team, but is batting just .203 this year with seven homers. Manager Paul Molitor says the effort is there, but not the results.
