(Cleveland, OH) — The Cavaliers’ and Raptors’ playoff series produced a familiar theme. The Cavs completed a four-game sweep of Toronto with a 128-93 win in Game Four of their Eastern Conference semifinal in Cleveland. It’s the third straight season the Cavs have eliminated the Raptors. In Philadelphia, the Sixers beat the Celtics 103-92 to avoid a four-game sweep in that series.

(Detroit, MI) — Stan Van Gundy will not be returning as head coach and president of basketball operations for the Pistons. Team owner Tom Gores says it was a difficult decision, but thanked Van Gundy for changing the culture of their team and re-instilling a winning attitude. Van Gundy was 152-and-176 with just one playoff appearance, a first-round sweep, in four seasons with Detroit.

(Pittsburgh, PA) — The Capitals are heading to the Eastern Conference Final. Evgeny Kuznetsov scored in overtime to give Washington a 2-1 win over the Penguins in Game Six of their second-round series in Pittsburgh. The Caps won the series 4-2 to move past the second round for the first time since 1998. They’ll take on Tampa Bay for the right to play in the Stanley Cup Final.

(Oakland, CA) — George Springer went 6-for-6 with a three-run homer and four runs scored as the Astros hammered the Athletics 16-2 to open a three-game series in Oakland. Springer joined Joe Morgan as the only player in Houston franchise-history to go 6-for-6. Marwin Gonzalez had three of the ‘Stros 20 hits, including a homer and five RBI. Dallas Keuchel [[ KYE-kull ]] got his second win.

(Charlotte, NC) — The Carolina Panthers are adding veteran running back C.J. Anderson. They’ve signed the 27-year-old to a one-year contract. Anderson spent the last five seasons with Denver, rushing for a career-high 1,007 yards to go with three touchdowns in 2017. He also caught 28 passes for 224 yards and one score. Anderson will compete to compliment starter Christian McCaffrey.
