Less than half of elementary and junior high students in Western Boone and Lebanon school corporations passed the new ILEARN assessment tests taken last spring, according to results released by the Indiana Department of Education. The test to replace the ISTEP+ test was taken by all students in grades three through eight last May. It measures English language arts and math skills. The scores were not only bad but they were much worse than ISTEP+ scores from the previous year, the state department of education said. More details in the Lebanon Reporter.
