After 12 tries, Josef Newgarden has won his first Indy 500. The Greatest Spectacle in racing concluded its 107th running on Sunday. It’s the second race of the NTT Indy Car series Newgarden has won this year. Newgarden won the second race of the season at the PPG 375. It was a daring finish for Newgarden in the race to pass defending Indy 500 champion Marcus Ericsson. Updated driver standings after the 500 have Alex Palou still as the best driver in all of Indy Car with 219 points. Josef Newgarden moves into the top five at fourth with 182 points. Next up in the NTT Indycar series it will be the Chevrolet Detroit Grand Prix set for June 4th at 3:00PM.
