The Indiana House has passed its version of the next state budget. As expected the main pillars of the budget are healthcare, school choice, and income tax cuts. When it comes to public health spending the budget does not includes as much funding as Governor Holcomb would like, but House Speaker Todd Huston says right now it’s a starting point in working with what the Senate would like to do. The budget plan also includes increase funding for school voucher programs and small cuts to your state income taxes over the next two years.
