Mrs. Norma B. Watts, 94, passed away on Sunday, December 11, 2022, at The Waters of Lebanon. She was born November 20, 1928, in Lebanon, Indiana, a daughter of the late Raymond William and Garnet Lura (Ford) Lister.
On September 3, 1950, she was united in marriage to Milburn Eugene “Gene” Watts in Greenwood, Mississippi. He passed away on December 13, 2020.
Raised in Lebanon, Norma attended Lebanon High School. She worked in the cafeteria at both Witham Memorial Hospital and Granville Wells School. She also spent time working at the Jamestown IGA, Haffner’s 5 & 10 Store and as a representative for Avon.
Norma was a longtime member of the Advance Community Christian Church where she taught Sunday school, served as the Sunday school superintendent and treasurer of the Women’s Fellowship. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who loved her family dearly. She enjoyed family get-togethers and gardening.
Survivors include her children: Linda (Terry) Smith of Advance, Wendy (David) Mitchell of Jamestown, William Watts of Hockley, Texas, Ray (Kathy) Watts of Coatesville, Joe (Penny) Watts of Advance, Becky Lane of Advance; Eighteen Grandchildren; Numerous Great-Grandchildren and Great-Great Grandchildren; Sisters: Rose Ann Kincaid of Lebanon, Marilyn Chamberlain of Adrian, Georgia; Brother-in-law: Jerry Harris of New Ross.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Norma was preceded in death by brothers, Gene Lister and Floyd Lister; sisters, Maxine Walton, Ruth Eileen Lister, Ruby Birge, Thelma Lusk, and Barbara Harris; brother-in-law, Frank Chamberlain; one grandchild; and one great-grandchild.
Funeral Services are planned for 12:00 noon on Saturday, December 17, 2022, at Advance Community Christian Church, 305 North Main Street, in Advance, Indiana. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. Burial of ashes will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lebanon in the Spring.
