Mr. Eddie R. Lenderman, 77, of rural Zionsville, passed away June 8, 2019, at Homewood Health Campus in Lebanon.
Eddie was born Feb. 26, 1942, in Terre Haute, a son of the late Ray and Marie (Jared) Lenderman. On August 2, 1969, he married Mary E. (Novotney) Lenderman. She passed away on June 13, 2015.
Eddie earned his Bachelor’s and Master’s degree from Indiana State University. He began his teaching career at Sharpsville-Prairie and Zionsville High School. He taught math for over 30 years at Pike High School, until his retirement. In retirement, he served as adjunct faculty at Ivy Tech and IUPUI. He also sold pole barns for many years. Eddie was a member of the New Hope Christian Church. He was an avid horseman. In his early years he enjoyed calf roping and later transitioned to team roping. He found immense joy in watching his daughters show their horses while growing up and helping young cowboys/cowgirls learn how to rope. Eddie was a strong supporter of Boone County 4-H and looked forward to the fair every year. He took pride in his agriculture roots and retained his family farm in Vigo County.
Survivors include his daughters, Emily Isenhower of Zionsville and Sarah (Ron) Prince of Ann Arbor, MI; brother, Donald (Kathy) Lenderman of Paoli, IN; and granddaughter, Ellie Ann Isenhower.
Family and friends will gather Wed., June 12, 2019, for visitation from 4 – 8 p.m. and funeral services will be held Thurs., June 13, 2019, at 10 a.m. with Pastor Jim Kyle officiating in the Strawmyer & Drury Mortuary, 2400 N. Lebanon Street, Lebanon. Eddie will be laid to rest at Salem Cemetery in Zionsville.
