Lester Daniel Roach, 91, formally of Zionsville, passed away on Saturday, June 8, 2019 in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He was born in Rochester, Kentucky on October 1, 1927, a son of the late Wayne and Vadie (Pendley) Roach.

Lester was a graduate of Rochester High School. Following high school, he served his country honorably in the U.S. Army, Airborne Division.

On March 26, 1954, in Vigo County, Indiana he was married to Marjorie Bell (Arthur) Roach; she passed away on March 9, 2013.

In 1962, Lester’s family moved to the Whitestown area and for the past several years he had resided in Zionsville Meadows before moving to Fort Wayne to be closer with family.

For many years, he worked in the Heat Treating Furnace Department at Allison Transmission in Indianapolis.

Lester was a member of New Hope Christian Church in Whitestown. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge of Whitestown and a Murat Shriner.

He was very devoted to his family and enjoyed hunting, fishing and traveling.

Troy (Debby) Artman– Stuart, Florida
Lisa (John) Childers-Antwerp, Ohio

In addition to his parents, Lester was preceded in death by twelve brothers and sisters.

Funeral Services are to be held on Friday, June 14, 2019 at 10:30 a.m. at Myers Mortuary, 1502 North Lebanon Street, in Lebanon, Indiana, with Rev. David Bourne, officiating.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 13 at the funeral home in Lebanon. Interment with military rites will follow services at Lincoln Memory Gardens, Whitestown, Indiana.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Alzheimer’s Association Greater Indiana Chapter, 50 East 91st Street, Suite 100, Indianapolis, Indiana 46240-1554.
