Mrs. Roxie (Burdine) Stewart, 68, of Jamestown, passed away June 2, 2019.

Roxie was born Aug 21, 1950, in Jamestown, a daughter of the late Herman and Lucille (McKinney) Burdine. She married Robert W. Stewart of North Salem on Mar. 27, 1970. They lived in Jamestown most of their married life. Roxie was the mother of Robert Allen (Stephanie) Stewart of Jamestown and Robin (Chuck) Osborne of Thorntown. She was the grandmother of Adam, Andrew, and Clara Meadows; Kennedy Osborne, Ethan and Aubrey Stewart.

Roxie was a member of The Church of God of Prophecy and a substitute teacher at Western Boone High School. She was the first lady on the Jamestown Volunteer Fire Dept. serving over 13 years. She helped with the Myrtle Bailey Boone County Christmas Toy Drive, served on the Western Boone Prom Committee, owned a flower shop for a short time, made special order cakes and was a grounds keeper at the Jamestown I.O.O.F. Cemetery.

Family and friends will gather Friday, June 7, 2019, for visitation from 2-8 p.m. in the Strawmyer & Drury Mortuary, 2400 N. Lebanon Street, Lebanon and funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 8, 2019, at 10:00 a.m. at The Church of God of Prophecy in Jamestown. Roxie will be laid to rest at Jamestown I.O.O.F Cemetery in Jamestown.
