Only one candidate filed for the Republican caucus to fill a vacated District 3 seat on the Lebanon City Council. Morris Jones will succeed Caleb Edwards, who is moving to North Carolina. When he is finally elected by the three precincts in Dist. 3, Jones will fulfill the term for three and a half years to the next election. Jones, an academic advisor at IUPUI and pastor at Lebanon Wesleyan Church. The Boone County Republican Central Committee will hold the closed caucus this evening at 5 p.m. at the Lebanon City Building Utility Conference Room, second floor, 401 S. Meridian St., Lebanon.
