Paula Jean Gregg, 79, of Thorntown, Indiana, passed away Wednesday afternoon, April 8, 2020 at Witham Memorial Hospital in Lebanon. She was born June 2, 1940 in Boone County, Indiana, a daughter of the late Mary Alice (Clemens) and Orville Victor Batts, Sr.
On March 30, 1962, she was married to Jerry Thomas Gregg in National City, California. They had celebrated 44 years together before his passing on May 27, 2006.
Paula had worked as a cook for Stookey’s for many years and at one point in time she had operated the Chief Inn in Thorntown.
She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Paula loved attending her grandchildren’s activities and enjoyed watching baseball and playing Euchre. She was a faithful member of First Community Church in Lebanon.
Survivors include children, Laurie A. (David) Bromberek of Lebanon, Brian T. Gregg of Thorntown, and Mark J. Gregg of Thorntown; grandchildren, Alicen M. Bromberek, John D. Bromberek, Kendra J. Brown, Dylan Gregg, Haley Hoskins, and Rachel Kolp; great grandchildren, Kamdyn Brown and Maleia Kolp; sisters, Marcia (Lowell) Ford and Margaret Ann (Walter) Lowery; brother, Lanny L. (Mary) Batts; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Paula was preceded in death by a son, Terry G. Blubaugh; two brothers, Charles E. Batts and O. Victor Batts, Jr.; and a sister, Donna Joan Smith.
Private Family Graveside Services will be held Monday, April 13, 2020, at Bethel Cemetery, rural Thorntown. Myers Mortuary has been entrusted with her arrangements for burial.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her memory to the First Community Church in Lebanon.
