Mrs. Pauline G. “Polly” McKinney, 97, passed away on Sunday, December 4, 2022, at The Waters of Lebanon. She was born in Marion, Ohio, on January 12, 1925, the youngest child of the late Charles E. and Cora E. (Quick) Gray.

Pauline was first married to Raymond George and they divorced. She later married William Ewell McKinney on March 17, 1956, in Aurora, Indiana. He preceded her in death on April 10, 1997.

A longtime resident of Ohio, Polly had worked as a bookkeeper for GTE of Ohio and Marion Steam and Shovel. She moved to Lebanon, Indiana in the early 1950s and worked in the office at the Blue & White Truck Stop and for Citizens Bank as a teller.

She was a member of the Lebanon Bible Baptist Church. In addition, she served with the American Legion and V.F.W. Women’s Auxiliaries in Lebanon.

Polly was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother. She enjoyed music and dancing and had a fondness for collecting cardinals.

Survivors include her children, Pamela Maynard of Lebanon, Michael (DeAnn Caldwell) of Lebanon, Cathy Simmons of Darlington, Rocky Rivers of Indianapolis, and Jeff McKinney of Tipton, Iowa; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren

In addition to her parents and husbands, Polly was preceded in death by two sons, Roy Rivers and John McKinney; two brothers, George Gray and Frank Gray; and four sisters, Myrtle Hatter, Mabel Snyder, Esther Rivers, and Ruth James.

Funeral Services are planned for 1:00 p.m. on Friday, December 9, 2022, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 North Lebanon Street, in Lebanon, Indiana. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Lincoln Memory Gardens in Whitestown, Indiana.
