An advocacy group is forming as people in the greater Lafayette area are beginning to express their opposition to the LEAP Project in Boone County. Their issue is over water as the state plans to pipe in water from other areas around northwestern central Indiana to meet the needs of the project once it is completed. The group, which does not have a name yet, has started a petition to the state saying that they don’t want the state to follow through on the project as it is currently presented. The LEAP project is a massive economic development initiative spearheaded by a new manufacturing facility to be built in Lebanon by Eli Lilly.
