Police are investigating an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound that occurred Wednesday in Zionsville. Michael Vanover, 28, of Zionsville, accidentally shot his right foot at his home in Pine Ridge Trailer Park on U.S. 421 and went to St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis for treatment, the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department reported to local authorities. Boone County Sheriff’s investigators marked the home off as a crime scene and collected evidence. They are investigating the event as an isolated, self-inflicted shooting and do not believe there is an immediate threat to the public as a result, Deputy Wesley Garst said in a news release late Thursday.
