The lights are back on in Lafayette and West Lafayette. Duke Energy yesterday said a ‘defect in the line’ caused about 14 thousand people to lose their electricity for about two hours. The outage covered most of downtown Lafayette and downtown West Lafayette. Duke says crews were able to restore most of the power by 9 p.m. last night.
