Boone, Clinton and Montgomery County officials have issued a red travel warning effective immediately due to a winter storm producing heavy snow and making travel hazardous.  The highest level of local travel advisory means that travel may be restricted to emergency personnel only. During a “warning” emergency, residents are directed to refrain from all travel, comply with necessary emergency measures, cooperate with public officials and disaster services forces in executing emergency operations plans, and obey and comply with the lawful directions of properly identified officers. The warning travel advisory is in effect until further notice. Officials from each county will reevaluate later this morning.
