The Boone County Republican Central Committee will hold a closed caucus March 13 to replace former Boone County Councilman Don Lamb. Lamb, a Republican, resigned his position last week when he was named director of the Indiana Department of Agriculture. When a political office holder leaves their position prematurely, their party may hold a caucus to name their replacement. The caucus will take place at 6 p.m. in the Boone County Courthouse Annex, 116 W. Washington St., Lebanon.
Anyone interested in filing to fill the vacancy must reside in one of the following Boone County precincts: Center, Clinton, Eagle, Harrison, Jackson, Jefferson, Marion, Perry, Sugar Creek, Union, Washington or Worth.
To be considered, a candidate must turn in the appropriate forms no later than 6 p.m. March 10 to Boone County Clerk Treasurer Lisa Bruder or Boone County Republican Party Chairwoman Debbie Ottinger. Forms may be mailed or hand delivered. Emailed forms will not be accepted.
