Mr. Robert “Bobby” Hasty, 72, of Lebanon, passed away Oct. 13, 2019, at Witham Hospital.
Bobby was born Nov. 20, 1946 in Mt. Vernon, KY, a son of the late Joe and Maggie (McClure) Hasty.
Bobby was a graduate of Whiteland High School and still to this day, holds the all-time scoring record for boys basketball. He served in the U.S. Army during Viet Nam. He was the plant manager at EZ Rake.
Bobby was a member of the American Legion. He enjoyed fishing, watching sports, coaching youth football and Babe Ruth baseball.
Survivors include his daughters Shannon (Scott) Couger of Zionsville and Carrie (Scott) England of Lebanon; grandchildren: Corbin Couger, Lauren Couger, Cameron Cole and Amber Goulet; a brother, Wayne (Kathy) Hasty of Lebanon; sisters, Wanda Deal, Geri (Bruce) Bartlett, and Joyce Taylor, all of Lebanon; sister-in-law, Carol Hasty of Whiteland; brother-in-law, Mike Cochran of Darlington, the mother of his children, Susie Randel and nine nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Bobby was preceded in death by brothers, Verlin and Lee Hasty and a sister, Ruth Cochran.
Family and friends will gather Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2019 for visitation from 4-8 p.m. and the funeral service will be held on Thursday, Oct. 17 at 10 a.m. in the Strawmyer & Drury Mortuary, 2400 N. Lebanon Street, Lebanon. Bobby will be laid to rest at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lebanon.
