Robert E. “Bob” Batten, 70, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at The Waters of Lebanon. He was born in Lebanon, Indiana on September 19, 1950; a son of the late Patricia Mae (Beck) Souci and Robert Franklin Batten. He was raised by his father and stepmother, Iva Doris (Johnson) Batten.
Bob was a graduate of Lebanon High School. He worked as a custodian for Pike High School and retired as custodian from Zionsville High School. After retirement, Bob worked for Zionsville Meadows. He attended Lebanon Rock Church.
He enjoyed fishing, mowing, planting flowers and loved all kinds of animals. Bob’s fondest memories usually revolved around his family and the wonderful times they shared together.
Survivors include: daughter, Janie Bigger of Gary, Indiana; siblings, Gene (Paula) Batten of Indianapolis, Gary (Debra) Batten of Lebanon, David Batten of Manchester, Kentucky, Deborah (Mike) Snow of Lebanon, and Barbara Turner of Lowell, Indiana.
In honor of Bob’s wishes, no services will be held.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in his memory to the Boone County Senior Services, 515 CrownPointe Drive, Lebanon, Indiana 46052 or Boone County Cancer Society, 117 West Elm Street, Lebanon, Indiana 46052.
Myers Mortuary and Boone County Crematory have been entrusted with his cremation arrangements.
