Mr. Robert E. Shelton, 64, of Jamestown, IN, passed away on Feb. 18, 2021.

Robert was born on Mar. 22, 1956 in Crawfordsville to the late Robert O. and Bonnie (Stewart) Shelton. He was married to Cynthia Moore for 44 years. She survives.

Robert went to school at Granville Wells High School. He served in the U.S. Army from 1973 to 1976. He was in the masonry business and a Maintenance Manager for GSC Manufacturing.

Robert loved old cars and muscle cars, tinkering with things outdoors, antique tractors, hunting, fishing, and spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.  He was also a jokester and wanted to make people laugh and have a good time.

Survivors include his wife, Cynthia and four children: Gerald “J.R.” (Renee Eads) Shelton of Advance, Amber (Roger McAllister) Thompson of Jamestown, Crystal (Andrew) Plemons of Crawfordsville, and Sandra (Bryan Smith) Maggart of Logansport; Robert had 17 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren;  two sisters, Pam (Owen) Thomas of Waynetown and Mary (Richard Lynn) Johnson of New Ross; mother- in-law, Norma Moore of Lebanon; and two sisters-in-law, Debbie Heath of Lebanon,  and Karen Hiatt of Lebanon.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Bonnie Shelton, father-in-law Gerald Moore, and brother-in-law, Dennis Moore.

Family and friends will gather Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2021 for visitation from 4-7 p.m. and the funeral service will be held Thursday, Feb. 25 at 10:30 a.m. in the Strawmyer & Drury Mortuary, 2400 N. Lebanon Street, Lebanon. Robert will be laid to rest at IOOF Cemetery in Jamestown.
