Ronald Lee Allen, 92, of Kokomo, passed away Thursday, Oct. 26, 2023, peacefully, surrounded by his family.

Ron was born Oct. 25, 1931, in Thorntown, a son of the late Claude and Eva (Fisher) Allen. He married Carolyn Ann (Green) on Jan. 11, 1952; they were married for 68 years.

Ron served as Sgt. in the Army Corp of Engineers during the Korean War, stationed in Germany from 1952 – 1954. He retired from Chrysler with 33 years of service. He enjoyed fishing, camping, hunting, working outside, and mowing for several neighbors for many years. He was a member of the American Legion. Ron enjoyed drinking coffee with his friends at McDonalds.

Survivors include his three daughters, Carla (Dwight) Albrecht, Ronna (Gary) Bohlander, and Carol McDowell; grandchildren, Jessica (Travis) Myers, Brittany (Nate) Cash, Nick (Abby) Albrecht, Megan (Chad) Keller, Jacob (Morgan) Bohlander, Molly Bohlander, and Joshua McDowell; five great grandchildren and another due in December; four step-grandchildren, and 13 step- great grandchildren.     He is also survived by siblings, John (Janet) Allen, Anna (George) Batts, Janet Gregg, Judy Skow, LaDonna Allen, and Maxine Waltenburg.

Ron was preceded in death by his loving wife, Carolyn Allen and siblings, Robert (Barb) Allen, Doyle (Eileen) Allen, Carter (Midge) Allen, Frances (Jack) Dunbar, Mary (Lester) Higer, Donald Allen, Bob Skow, Steve Gregg, and Hank Waltenburg.

Family and friends will gather Thursday, Nov. 2, for a graveside service at 11 a.m. at Maple Lawn Cemetery in Thorntown.
