Sam Henry, 79, passed away on August 22, 2019, at his rural home near Jamestown, Indiana. He was born in Indianapolis on July 4, 1940, the son of the late Samuel Earl Henry Sr. and Viola M. (Aulls) Henry.
He graduated from Theodore Potter School No. 74, and was a 1960 graduate of Arsenal Technical High School in Indianapolis.
At Franklin Road Baptist Church in Marion County on February 8, 1964, he married Karen (Milton) Henry. In the summer of 1972, they moved with their 2 young children to the Jamestown area of rural Boone County Indiana. Sam and Karen enjoyed 55 glorious years together.
In January 1966, Sam was hired by Praxair Surface Technologies (formerly Union Carbide Coatings Services). After 34 years, he retired from the Speedway facility in May 2000. During his tenure, he was privileged to work on parts for the first lunar landing module and the moon rover vehicle, both of which remain on the moon’s surface to this day.
Sam loved the Lord, and was active in the Lebanon Rock Church for many years. He enjoyed playing golf and collecting related memorabilia. His hobby interest was HO scale model trains, and he was a member of the Circle City Modelers Club.

Several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Sam was preceded in death by a brother, James Calvin Henry; twin half-brothers, Harold (Thelma) Jacobs and Herman (Betty) Jacobs; and half-sister, Lucille (James) Baugh.
Visitation is planned from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 29 at Myers Mortuary, 1502 North Lebanon Street, Lebanon, IN 46052.
Funeral Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, August 30 at the funeral home in Lebanon with Pastor Sam Westmoreland officiating.
Interment will follow services at Washington Park East Cemetery, 10612 East Washington Street, Indianapolis, Indiana 46229.
