Mrs. Sarah Jean O’Bryan, 76, passed away Tuesday morning, March 29, 2022, with her loving husband by her side at Homewood Health Campus in Lebanon, Indiana. She was born August 11, 1945, in Indianapolis, Indiana, a daughter of the late Garland N. and Teresa Marie (Curran) Edwards.

Sarah was a 1963 graduate of Lebanon High School. She lived in New Jersey and Indianapolis following graduation before moving back to Lebanon in 1994. She was a member of the Women’s Army Corps. (WAC) in the United States for two years during the Vietnam Era.

On May 6, 1994, in Lebanon, Indiana she was married to Willard “Willie” O’Bryan, he survives, and they shared 27 years together. She was previously married to Ralph S. Maillet.

Sarah worked in the clerical/secretarial field for many years, retiring in 1995 due to health reasons.

She was an active member of St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Lebanon. Sarah was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who loved her family dearly. In her spare time, she enjoyed watching classical movies, crocheting, and reading.

Survivors include her husband, Willie O’Bryan of Lebanon; children, Debbye (Ron) Hatton of Holt, Michigan, Stephen “Steve” (Christy) Maillet of Indianapolis; stepchildren, Scott (Susan) O’Bryan of Indianapolis, Shana (Brian) Irwin of Lebanon; grandchildren, Mikaela Maillet, Ethan O’Bryan, Evan Hatton, Eric Hatton, Brittany Irwin and Jarrod Irwin; siblings: Kathy (Dr. Herschell Jr.) Servies of Lebanon, Ellen (David) Fox of Brownsburg, Joyce (Harold) Shirley of Lebanon, Robert (Amy) Edwards of Lebanon, Richard (Gladys) Edwards of Lebanon, Susan (Gary) Hensley of Lebanon, Rebecca (Charlie) Hood of Lebanon; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, Sarah was preceded in death by infant children, Michael and Patricia Maillet.

Funeral Mass will be held at 12:00 p.m. noon on Saturday, April 2, 2022 at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, 319 East South Street in Lebanon, Indiana.

Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. noon at the church. Interment will follow services at St Joseph’s Cemetery in Lebanon, Indiana.
