They are going to be making more semiconductors in Lafayette. Taiwan-based tech manufacturer MediaTek yesterday announced plans to expand their operation. MediaTek will work with Purdue to create what the company calls a microchip design center. The project will mean about 30 new jobs. The state of Indiana is kicking-in one-point-four million-dollars in tax credits to help the project along.
