The primary candidate filing period closed Friday and several big Boone County offices have multiple Republican candidates running. A handful of Democrats have also registered for county offices and will provide an alternative for voters in the general election. The Circuit Court Judge race has three Republicans in the running, with incumbent Jeffery Edens not seeking re-election.
