Sharon Ruth Loux, 85, of Lebanon, died peacefully at home, Tuesday, April 18, 2023. She was surrounded by family at the time of her death. Sharon was born in Indianapolis on January 12, 1938, she was the child of the late Albert James and Ruth Lucile (Neffle) Alexander.

Raised in Indianapolis, she was a 1955 graduate of Shortridge High School. She worked at the Indiana State Library in Indianapolis after high school. She met the love of her life, Don Loux, at the Tee Pee Restaurant located near the Indiana State Fairgrounds. The couple were married on June 3, 1956 and began their lives together in homes on 33rd Street and then to Arlington Avenue in Indianapolis. In 1972, the Loux’s moved to Lebanon as Don took a transfer with Prudential. They bought a new house under construction by Ping Brothers located on Grant Street. Sharon would work two years at Economy Fire and Casualty before starting her long career at the Lebanon Reporter. She started as coordinator of the advertising department. Sharon excelled in this position and was promoted to sales in 1976. On January 1, 1991, Sharon was promoted again to the position of Advertising Manager. She held this position until her retirement in 1991 with 23 years of service.

Sharon loved entertaining friends and family around her pool. Her favorite group to entertain were her four grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. She loved being in the sun and watching all the kids! She loved sewing and embroidery, having crafted items for people all over Lebanon. She absolutely loved her other kids, her dogs, most recently Buttons and Zipper. Sharon and Don loved antique cars as well, owning vintage ’53 Ford Victoria and a ’65 Mustang Convertible.

Her memberships included: Central Christian Church of Lebanon, Jobs Daughters International, Eastern Star Whitestown Chapter 248, Lafayette Indiana Historic Auto Club, Antique Automobile Club of America, and Veteran Motor Car Club of America.

Survivors include, one brother, Jim Alexander (Penny) of St. Augustine, Florida; daughter, Mrs. Kari Hunter (Lyle); son, Geoff Loux (Cheryl) both of Lebanon; grandsons, Kyle Hunter (Krista) of Whitestown, Kreg Hunter (Beth) of Zionsville, and Kirt Hunter (Erin) of Lebanon; granddaughter, Catrena Dulin (Brad) of Lebanon; and ten great grandchildren.

Funeral Services are planned for 2:00 p.m. on Monday, April 24, 2023, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 North Lebanon Street, in Lebanon, with Rev. Kyle M. Hunter, officiating. Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. noon until the time of services. Interment will follow at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Lebanon.
