Shirley I. Coffman, 85, passed away Wednesday, April 8, 2020 at Homewood Health Campus in Lebanon, Indiana. She was born March 17, 1935 in Colfax, Indiana, a daughter of the late Walter and Hazel (Suter) Harshbarger.
Shirley was married to Howard A. Coffman. They were married 48 years before he passed away on October 11, 1998.
Raised in central Indiana, Shirley attended Colfax High School. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She enjoyed taking care of her home and family. She was always baking, cooking and making candy for family and friends. Self-taught, Shirley was skilled at sewing, crocheting, and reupholstering furniture.
Survivors include daughters, LuAnn Gregory of Thorntown and Linda Fearrin of Thorntown; sons, Rick Coffman of California and Steve Coffman of Arizona; several grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; brother, Russell Harshbarger of Lafayette; sister, Debbie Harshbarger of Lafayette; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Shirley was preceded in death by her son, Michael Coffman; a grandson, Gary Shane Gregory; two great grandchildren, Kaylee Gregory and Nolan Berzenye; son-in-law, Gary D. Gregory; three brothers, Herbert “Bud” Harshbarger, Max Harshbarger, and Marvin Harshbarger; and five sisters, Linda Donahoe, Sharon Harshbarger, Delores Mitchell, Gartha Webb, and Karen Harshbarger.
No Services will be held at this time. Myers Mortuary and Boone County Crematory have been entrusted with her care.
Memorials may be made in Shirley’s memory to the charity of the donor’s choice.
