Pacers Edge Hawks In Regular Season Finale

(Atlanta, GA) — Edmond Sumner nailed the winning free throws in the final seconds as the Pacers edged the Hawks 135-134 in Atlanta. T.J. Leaf led Indiana with 28 points and 13 rebounds in the regular season finale. Tyreke Evans posted 27 points and Sumner provided 22 off the bench. The Pacers end the regular season at 48-and-34 and will face the Boston Celtics in the playoffs.

(New York, NY) — The Indiana Fever are bringing in three new faces following the WNBA Draft yesterday. Indiana selected center Tearia McCowan with the third overall pick out of Mississippi State. The six-foot-seven center was tabbed by many as the best low-post player in the draft. Indiana also added guard Paris Kea from North Carolina and forward Caliya Robinson from North Carolina.

(New York, NY) — The Notre Dame women’s basketball team is well represented in the WNBA Draft. The entire starting lineup from this year’s team got selected yesterday, led by number-one pick Jackie Young, who went to Las Vegas. Arike Ogunbowale went fifth overall to Dallas, Brianna Turner went 11th to Atlanta before getting traded to Phoenix. Forward Jessica Shepard was chosen 16th by Minnesota and guard Marina Mabrey was picked 19th by the L.A. Sparks.

(Toledo, OH) — J.T. Brubaker fired six frames of one-run ball as the Indians folded the Mud Hens 4-3 in Toledo. Will Craig, Cole Tucker and Bryan Reynolds each homered for Indianapolis, which swept the two-game road series in Toledo. Tonight is the home opener for the Indians at Victory Field against the Charlotte Knights.
