Mr. Steven “Steve” Troy Spear, 48, of Thorntown, Indiana, passed away Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at home with family by his side. He was born on January 13, 1973 in Lebanon, Indiana; a son of Michael and Carol (Lollar) Spear.
Steve was a 1991 graduate of Western Boone Jr. Senior High School. Following high school he proudly served in the U.S. Air Force.
He was a heavy equipment operator over 23 years with Local Union 841 out of Terre Haute, Indiana. He was an avid outdoors man who loved hunting and fishing and was a member of the County Line Fishing Club for a few years. Steve was fun-loving with a kind heart who adored his family.
Survivors include his parents: Mike and Carol Spear of Thorntown; son, Troy Spear of Thorntown; Troy’s mother and Steve’s companion, Barbara Osborne of Thorntown; bonus daughter, Kristen Leffler of Muncie; brother, David Leon (Ursula) Spear of Kentucky; grandmother, Ruth Spear of Lebanon;
niece, Lisa Spear of Kentucky; nephew, Chris (Chelsey) Spear of Florida;
great nephew, Oliver Spear of Florida; many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Steve was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Max Spear and maternal grandparents, Clyde and Stella Lollar.
Funeral Services are planned for 2:00 p.m. on Monday, March 15, 2021 with Chaplain Ken Rushing officiating at Myers Mortuary, 1502 North Lebanon Street, in Lebanon. Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home in Lebanon. Interment will follow services at Dover Cemetery in Dover.
