Teresa Poynter Watson, 71, of Lebanon, Indiana, passed away Monday night, May 11, 2020, at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born October 19, 1948 in Lebanon, the daughter of the late Robert A. “Bob” and Carra Nelle (Scott) Poynter.

A life-resident of Lebanon, Teresa was a 1966 graduate of Lebanon High School. She attended the University of Miami where she attained her bachelors degree.

Teresa worked many years as an administrative assistant for the Indiana State Department of Health. She also volunteered her time at the Boone County Health Department whenever there was a need.

A devoted mother and grandmother, Teresa’s family was her world. She cherished every moment they spent together. She was a fan of Indy Car Racing and enjoyed working at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway for over 35 years. In her free time, she like to do needlepoint and loved attending music concerts. She was a huge fan of the Oak Ridge Boys and Tracy Byrd.

Survivors include Gene Watson of Lebanon; two children, Robert Watson of Avon and Melanie Watson of Lebanon; and a grandson, Hans Rienger of Indianapolis.

In addition to her parents, Teresa was preceded in death by a son, Edward Christopher “Chris” Watson, and a brother, Gary Poynter.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, May 18, 2020, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 North Lebanon Street, in Lebanon, Indiana. Visitors will need to follow the current social distancing guidelines.
No Funeral Services are planned.
Boone County Crematory has been entrusted with her cremation arrangements following visitation.
