Mr. Terry L. Abbott, 75, of Lebanon, passed away Feb. 24, 2020, at Kindred Hospital-Central in Indianapolis.
Terry was born July 6, 1944 in Lebanon, a son of the late Cecil and Jessie (Likens) Abbott. He married Nesta Cokkinias on April 6, 1968 in Jeffersonville, IN. She survives.
Terry was a graduate of Clinton Central High School. He served in the U.S. Army and was in VietNam from 1966-67. He was a truck driver for 28 years, working for Yellow Freight, and retired in 2000.
Terry was a member of the Local 135 Teamsters, and a Union Steward for Yellow Freight. He was also a member of Boone Lodge #9 F & A.M. Terry enjoyed going to casinos, boxing and UFC. He was most proud of his children and grandkids.
Survivors include his wife, Nesta; sons, C. Scott (fiancé Christin May) Abbott of Lebanon and Rick (Amanda Pugh) Abbott of Frankfort; and daughter, Dawn “Sis” (Eric) Abbott Kidwell of Lebanon; grandchildren: Sydney (Tim) Wilhelm, Abigayle Abbott, Mitchell Abbott, Austin Abbott, Ashlynn Abbott, Bailea Abbott and Caysee Purdue; great-grandchildren, Hudson Abbott and TJ Price; brothers: Richard (Carolyn) Abbott of Frankfort, Danny (Peg) Abbott and Bill (Marilyn) Abbott, both of Rossville and Larry (Shirley) Abbott of Zionsville. In addition to his parents, Terry was preceded in death by sisters, Barbara Piscador and Lucille Allen.
Family and friends will gather Thursday, Feb. 27, 2020 for visitation from 4-8 p.m. and the funeral service will be held Friday, Feb. 28th at 1 p.m. in the Strawmyer & Drury Mortuary, 2400 N. Lebanon Street, Lebanon. Terry will be laid to rest at Mts. Runn Cemetery in Zionsville.
