The Boone County Law Enforcement Memorial is Monday October 11 beginning at 7 p.m. The location will be the Boone County Courthouse. A ceremony will be held to honor those officers who laid down their lives and paid the ultimate sacrifice in Boone County. Boone County has lost four officers in the line of duty: Boone County Sheriff’s Deputy Jake Pickett, Indiana State Police Master Sgt. Michael Greene, Indiana State Trooper Richard Brown, and Boone County Sheriff John Peper. A multi-agency honor guard, a bagpipe player and a local student playing Taps on bugle will round out the ceremony. Lebanon and Whitestown fire departments will hoist the American flag over the street. At 6 p.m. there will be a meet-and-greet time with officers from all Boone County law enforcement agencies.
