Mrs. W. Maxine Freeland, 96, of Lebanon, Indiana passed away on Friday evening, June 2, 2023, at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born September 1, 1926, a daughter of the late Roy Delmar and Josie Ethel (Powers) Lee.
Maxine was united in marriage to E. Lee Freeland on February 18, 1945 in Indianapolis. He preceded her in death on November 21, 1989.
She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother. She took great pride in her home, always keeping it tidy. Maxine was talented in hand embroidery and sewing. She enjoyed gardening, and cooking and baking for her family. For fun, Maxine liked working 1000+ piece puzzles and playing cards.
Survivors include daughter, Judy (Tim) Christenson; granddaughters, Kellie (Jarimie) Close and Erin (Ed) Chavez; great grandchildren, Ronald Helget, Kenneth Helget, Lee (Jeslyn Schuh) Chavez, and Ellie (partner, Jason Beery) Chavez; great-great grandchildren, Daniel Helget and Jenson Helget; many nieces, nephews, family and friends who were loved and cherished.
In addition to her parents and her husband, Maxine was preceded in death by siblings, Max Lee, Robert E. Lee, Rex Clay Lee, Wanda Zavada, Roy Delmar Lee, Jr., Marjorie Miller, Joan Gochenour, Ralph Lee, Juanita Kidd Hale, Jack Lee, and Maurice Lee; and so many other family members and friends.
Funeral Services are planned for 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 8, 2023, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 North Lebanon Street, Lebanon, Indiana. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until the time of services. Interment will follow at Lincoln Memory Gardens in Whitestown, Indiana.
