There are delays in the city of Westfield’s push to sell Grand Park. The city government still owes 77-million-dollars on the property that opened in June 2014 and has been going over bids to sell the property since March of 2022. Right now all options appear to be on the table for the committee reviewing bid, which include anything from an outright sale of the campus to leasing options. City leaders say that if someone buys Grand Park outright they would have to pay taxes on the 400 acres. The city-owned facility is currently exempt from property taxes.
