Before Whitestown earned the title of fastest-growing community in Indiana for the past eight years, it was a small town named for Albert Smith White in 1851.
At 104 S. Main St. town officials will unveil new markers and a mural to commemorate the town’s founding father, his connection to President Abraham Lincoln and the town’s connection to the Big 4 Railroad and now trail. The ceremony will be at noon Oct. 24, which is the 216th birthday of Albert White. More details in the Lebanon Reporter.
