William “Bill” A. Padgett, 79, of rural Lebanon, died Monday, January 1, 2024 at the Witham Hospital in Lebanon. The son of the late Perry A. and Dorchas (Heady) Padgett, Bill was born June 24, 1944 in Lebanon. He graduated from Sheridan High School and married Anita Kay Cline.
A farmer through and through, Bill and his wife owned and operated their family farm. He was an outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting.
He is survived by his wife; children, Andrew (Debora) Padgett and Aaron (Katherine) Padgett both of Lebanon; sister, Charlene Hackett; grandchildren, Alex (Catherine) Padgett of Connecticut, Shannon (Roger) Chase of Ft. Wayne, Margaret Padgett of Lafayette, Abbigail Padgett and Lilly Padgett both of Lebanon and great grandchildren, Anistasia and Theodore “Ted” Chase. Bill was preceded in death by his sister, Chiquita Hamstra and brother-in-law, Byron Hackett.
Final care for Bill has been entrusted to the Strawmyer and Drury Mortuary, 2400 N. Lebanon Street, Lebanon. There will not be any services.
